Andy will explain how the investment casting process is used to make single crystal and directionally solidified blades.

Presidents Airspace

I’m looking forward to a great flying season. We’ve already got a lot planned for the summer. Take a look at our calendar of events and invite your friends to any events that they might be interested in. Here are a bunch of random thoughts:

Young Eagle days are lots of fun and they really do inspire young people to pursue the dream of flying. Absolute proof of that can be found in the winter ground school class. Three of the ten students are 15 years old and all had their first exposure to flying at a Young Eagle rally at Geauga County Airport. Call Brian King to see how you can help with our next Young Eagle Rally (May 4).

Our First Fly-in of Summer is coming up on June 22. We need a chairperson for car parking. Please call me at 440 897 4311 to volunteer.

I hope that by this time next month, you will be able to read this newsletter at our new chapter website. Our Webmaster is putting the finishing touches on version 1.0 at this writing. The website includes a section about chapter members and your airplanes. If you have a digital photo (.jpg .bmp .gif) of your airplane, Email it to Ben Bambenek at ben_bambenek@yahoo.com he will add it to the website.

You may recall that in past years we’ve tried to schedule fly-out events and they rarely happened as planned. This year we’ll try something different. If the weather looks good, just assume that there will be a fly-out leaving the airport on Saturday morning. We’ll get together in the clubhouse and decide where to go that day.
