NEXT EAA CHAPTER MEETING –

Saturday, June 21, at 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
At
Geauga County Airport

PRESIDENT’S AIRSPACE

Hey, everyone, our pancake breakfast/fly-in is Saturday, June 21.  We will need volunteers throughout the morning and would like as many people to come out as possible.  There is a sign-up list at the airport.  We are having a board meeting Tuesday the 17th at 7:00 p.m. and would welcome any members who would like to help out and all members who are running particulars for the pancake breakfast to attend.  Please spread the word about the fly-in/breakfast/Young Eagle Rally.

We'll keep it short for this month.  Thanks.  Andy
.

LOVE THOSE FLAPJACKS!

EAA 5 members.  Jack and Connie Plavcan, Tim Connor and Carol Gragg, Randy and Naomi St.Julian, showed up for the Port Meadville pancake breakfast and car show.  The St.Julians had more cross country experience and participated in the First National Cherokee Fly-In in Afton, Oklahoma and nearly won Best of Show (missed by a few "N" numbers)!  Tim Connor and Carol Gragg are planning a cross country to Missouri this summer, too!  Anyone interested in a fly-out, contact any of the above people who appear to be the ringleaders in the fly-outs!  Restaurants reported to be open:  Tri-City, an Italian restaurant at the end of the runway in Beaver, PA, Butler, PA, Franklin, PA, of course Carroll County, Port Clinton, Mansfield. any others you can think of?  Editor's Note:  please excuse me if I have left out your fly-out, but unless you e-mail me regarding the event, and I didn't go, I won't know.

MEMBERS IN THE NEWS

Rumor has it that Tim Connor had his first instrument lesson!  GO TIM!  Vince and Lillian Welch have reportedly picked out their paint scheme.  We are all waiting for the pictures!  Bill and Marie Sedlicky are looking to go to Mon Ami for Sunday brunch.  Next fly-out?.

FROM EAA HEADQUARTERS

Anyone finishing up a homebuilt this year should know about EAA's Centennial Package for New Homebuilts.  Anyone who completes a homebuilt aircraft between December 17, 2002 and December 31, 2003 is eligible to receive this special package from EAA to commemorate the centennial of powered flight.  It includes a centennial dataplate and certificate of accomplishment.  In addition, a picture of the homebuilder and his/her project will appear on a special section of the EAA website.  To receive this, you need to send your name, EAA number, copy of the aircraft registration, picture of the aircraft and a brief description of the project to EAA Aviation Information Services, P.O. Box 3086, Oshkosh, WI 54903-3086.

If you are looking for an amateur-built DAR who can certify the aircraft, check out http://av-info.faa.gov/dst/DARDirectory.pdf.  If you are interested in becoming a DAR, check out http://av-info.faa.gov/dst/reference.htm.
