JANUARY, 2002 EAA CHAPTER 5

NEXT EAA CHAPTER 5 MEETING – Monday, January 21 at 7:00 p.m.
at Geauga County Airport – be there!

January 21 meeting program - Chuck Slusarczyk will provide running commentary during a screening of the Junkyard Wars episode that he starred in.

President’s Airspace

About 70 people showed up for the Christmas party – and that was only about half of the Membership! We enjoyed a great evening of food, hangar flying, gift exchanging, and simple socializing with friends. Newly certified airplanes were admired, projects in process were examined, and old airplanes were decorated for the occasion. In case you missed it, the next one will be held on December 14, 2002.

On New Years Eve, a smaller contingent of members enjoyed a wonderful dinner together at Alecci’s (the Olde Mill) in Garrettetsville. Afterward we went to the airport where it looked like we might be able to fly at midnite. Unfortunately the clouds moved in and by 11:30, it was snowing. Being the prudent pilots that EAA’ers are, we stayed in the clubhouse and enjoyed a small buffet of appetizers and desserts along with a little midnite bubbly.

Ground School

EAA chapter 5 and First Wings Aviation will present a ground school again this winter. If you or anyone you know is interested in getting your private pilot written test out of the way, show up at the clubhouse this Thursday Jan 17th at 7:00pm. Class will be every Thursday evening for 10 weeks. Books and tuition is $265.00. Chapter members get a $25.00 discount.

Dues are Due!

If you haven’t paid your dues for 2002, please do so now! Send $25.00 in any form of legal tender to the treasurer:
